How do we move with the waves of change that life brings?

Are we thrown off? Do we cling to rickety rafts of habits of resistance?

5Rhythms® is a dynamic movement meditation practice – a map for awakening and embodying our creative capacity to meet all that moves through us. There are no steps to follow in this improvisational movement methodology. Instead, we show up, tune in and move what is alive in us, as we dance a Wave of the 5Rhythms (Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness). These qualities of movement mirror the way energy moves and changes in the world. We begin slow and gentle, let our movements become more vigorous as we build to a peak of release, then we follow the ripples of our dance until it settles into a still and meditative place. In this workshop, we will let the 5Rhythms Wave inspire and hold our practice of letting go. Together we will dance, sweat, and cultivate our capacity to tap into the deeper currents of life that are available to us, when we surrender to our body’s wisdom.

This 5Rhythms workshop is part of Big Heart Dance Camp! Join us for a blast of creative conscious community! A fun & sacred space for all ages to play & grow in. We offer an extensive line up of amazing workshop facilitators. Workshops last between 1.5 and 3 hrs. You are welcome to go to many workshops or relax at the beach.
