Layah says: I am so happy to be leaving my monthly Deep Waves classes in the loving and talented hands of Soasis and Zach during my maternity leave this year!

Soasis Jill Abrahamse Sukuweh (5Rhythms teacher) and Zach Sukuweh (multi-instrumentalist) have co-created 5Rhythms events together for the past 18 years.

Soasis began her apprenticeship with 5Rhythms founder Gabrielle Roth in 1995. Her teaching style is intuitive and encourages curiosity and compassion. Zach’s greatest joy is to play for dancers. He lays down live improvisational musical landscapes with singing, Didjeridu, and percussion instruments of all sorts, with which dancers can move and be moved.

Deep Waves is a monthly Saturday evening high-spirited community dancing dive into the medicine of the 5Rhythms®. We gather for an evening of music, movement, ceremony, and community connection.

Danced by tens of thousands worldwide, 5Rhythms is a dynamic freestyle movement practice rooted in the principle that if you put the psyche in motion it will heal itself. Dancing Wave upon Wave of the 5Rhythms, we practice the art of being fully alive in the present moment, to all that moves through us.
